It has the business but not the supply and not the efficiency. Without wars, blockages and the Nordstream sabotage etc...how do the Americans produce and sell at the needed price point? Have they left themselves with a choice? This way they have the price point. It's not like they can go back to selling Chevrolets to the world.

as a canadian i can tell you that the so-called alberta secessionist movement is a ruse to create leverage with the rest of canada to expand pipelines thru bc and into ontario and overcome public and first nations resistance to these projects. the federal government is all on board but they need to create the appearance that to save canada (ie to stop alberta from secession which really has no legs as it violates the constitution and treaty agreements with first nations in alberta) the federal government would need to make concessions to alberta under the appearance of duress. but alberta is also attempting to leverage concessions such as more economic and political autonomy and to subvert the federal government's climate policy.

Now Israel's voice is kept out of this carnage and it's just Trump and his administration, making all the decisions, and no input from Netanyahu, no input from AIPAC, and is totally in Trump's hands. In that interview, and a few subsequent ones, John Mearsheimer said several things that got me thinking.
First, he said that theorists are born, not made. Second, he said that in order to come up with a good social science theory, one has to know a lot about history and human nature. And third, he explained that the way he examines a problem is a lot like a debater preparing for a debate—making an argument while anticipating the counter-argument and the counter to the counter.
In developing my own set of theories about how we must use the political process to turn the aircraft carrier in a better direction, I have utilized all of those tools of the trade. That is why what I have come up with is so powerful.
The trouble is that in order to convince anyone you are on the right track, it requires a certain amount of their bandwidth to wrap their minds around what you are trying to convey. Unfortunately, the vast majority of people are not willing to take the time to ponder these kinds of issues, which makes it an uphill battle to get anyone to listen.
But despite all of that, I know I am spot on, and that is why I refuse to give up or throw in the towel. I want to make a genuine difference for the human species. While real change often requires a political path driven by powerful leaders, I agree with Howard Zinn that lasting movement usually comes from the bottom up. In this instance, it has to come from both directions: bottom-up and top-down.
