On 22 August 2024, I appeared with Judge Napolitano on his podcast — “Judging Freedom.” We discussed where Israel is headed, given all its internal and external problems, and what the likely consequences will be of Ukraine’s invasion of Russia in the Kursk region.
Another highly informative interview. Your words and analysis are needed more than ever. Beware of the DOJ. Free speech and independent thought are on their agenda.
I had a few flights and visited Africa recently where I was able to talk to people from different parts of the world. In so many words I asked them what they thought of both the US government and the citizens of the US. A Chinese guy’s opinion is that both the US government and the people were ignorant and arrogant. I think he used the word stupid. A couple from Kenya said the US has lead the world in a bad direction. They said we’re total hypocrites and the people are too free to be able to engage in activities that aren’t productive. This was the basic theme from most of the people I talked to from a wide range of backgrounds and countries. It’s really too bad that our image around the world is so tarnished because as John Mearsheimer has insinuated it didn’t have to be this way and it should not be this way. As he points out across all of his messaging, our foreign policy has basically been bad since the end of world war 2 and it’s been especially bad since the end of the Cold War. Unfortunately, in large part, especially when it comes to our political leadership, the Chinese guy’s assessment is accurate.
You should listen to people’s opinions about the U.S. in the Middle East, then.. even in Europe, where European governments are falling over themselves trying to follow the U.S. over the cliff, opinions are not much different. The U.S. has failed miserably to ‘win the hearts and minds’ of the world’s peoples. And the biggest advertisement for U.S. stupidity?? Why, the presidential elections, of course!! Everyone on that stage is directly from central casting.. it is clear that the U.S. empire managers (what suckers call elected officials) are hired to maintain ‘narrative control’ rather than govern. They are nothing more than hired actors.. and bad ones, for that matter as they suck at what they do.. no one believes their rendition of empire manager..
I couldnt agree more. They’re all horrible. In the upcoming election we have a choice between horrendous and horrendously horrific. They’re all spineless cowards. Those who pretend to be empathetic are especially hypocritical. The title of the interview sums it up. We’re headed for big trouble and it’s all due to stupidity and arrogance.
Here is a few opinions that Abby Martin recorded in an interview with a few young Zionists inside the Zionists Enclave, some seven years ago, long before the October 7, 2023 stupidity by Hamas, yet after 75 years in the struggle to live in indignity in their Own Land, Listen to this, you will see how brainwashed and murderous their attitude was then …then they had another nearly six more years of Brainwashing and Military Camps and Training on how to Torture, How Terrorize them and how to randomly arrests them and kill them and all with the Connivance of American Presidents and Military Leaders like Lloyd Austin …and UN Representatives like the one now raising her hands now until her hands get numbed and Biden and Blinkmen et el repeating Zionists lies to keep watching ten more months of Destruction, Death in Gaza and Terrorism, eviction of Palestinians from their homes and farms and nearly 700 - 800 West Bank Original Inhabitants were killed during this ten plus months …on top of 75 years of harassment of the entire Palestinian population..
I’ve developed a “course” that examines the root of these problems but so far no one seems to be interested in taking my course. As a result I think I’ll go back to spending my time playing soccer, skiing and working and forget about these types of things which I don’t have control over. Although I think I’ve got it all more or less figured out, it hasn’t done me or anyone any good…
Thank you for sending those videos. I watched both of them and unfortunately they have reinforced my rudimentary understanding of the situation in Isreal. I had a discussion with Jewish people on the last leg of my plane ride and their attitude was similar to many of the people interviewed in these videos (especially the second one). I think that at the end of the day my “course” is the answer to all of these problems. In part it’s very simple, I think that all of the world’s religions should be scrapped and replaced by my “course”. I also have a clear idea as to what Joe Biden should have done after 10/7/23. The bottom line is that the world is playing with fire on several fronts and it seems as though it’s likely that we’ll get burned. These problems would have a chance at being ameliorated and possible solved with a good dose of empathy for others, proper leadership and management but that apparently is asking too much. Our leaders have botched things up and made bad situations worse. This situation needs to be remedied. This is why my “course” is worthwhile.
" I think that all of the world’s religions should be scrapped and replaced by my “course” Really? You listen to a video that highlights the perception of Israeli's in regard to Palestinians, and who are now implementing a genocide, and you think this can be solved by getting rid of all religions, and your course? This is not a religious issue, but one based on profound prejudice brought to this land by a people with a colonial mindset which perceives Muslims, Arabs, as inferior. Animals, Gallant called them, and therefore ready for the kill. Balfour felt free to give away the land of another, as did the UN, and it was followed up with the Nakba. The Israeli's killed some 70 or 80 thousand, displaced hundreds of thousands, and then stole everything they left behind. How about if the US didn't give them anymore weapons or those so called liberals in the democratic party that turn themselves in multi-millionaires after their "service" spoke out against the genocide and didn't kiss Israel's ass, or AIPAC'S!
If the Palestinians survive ….eventually there will be a solution !

But, if they knew there were human life in our planet, they will celebrate the end !
Well, if we do get into a nuclear war and Kamala's hand does hit the button no doubt she will die laughing. It was Kevin Flynn who made that comment, sorry. When we entered the 21st century I wondered what it was going to be like, and now it can so easily be described as a century where one war follows another. That warmongering mindset has only escalated as the decades have slipped by. I had a mother, a devout anti-zioinist who was very political as was her Jewish friend. They would sit around the table talking about Israel implementing a direct assault on the Palestinians, so severe it drew in surrounding middle eastern countries. I remember Iran was one of them. Some I forget. It would also draw in the US and Russia as well, and that would be the end of us all. A cousin a few years back said to me that my Mom was an anti-zionist, ah, ah, ah, anti-Jewish, he said in a hush, I told him no. Haven't spoken to him recently and now I hope he sees my dead mother might actually have been a seer.
Professor I follow your realist school with my heart and soul but I just cannot understand your support for a two-state solution in Palestine. Won't this result in a never ending struggle for superiority?
Totally agree.. a two state solution is simply naive to hold on to.. and a one state solution will never exist because of the nature of the Israeli colonial project. The demise of Israel was baked into its foundation. Does anyone - Mearsheimer included with his realism - think that in another 80 years Israel will continue to be a viable state?? You need to understand human psychology more so than international relations/politics to realise this whole supremacist movement would be dead in its tracks at some point and that a two state solution is a pipe dream..
I agree completely. The only viable solution is a one-state solution with reparations paid to Palestinians and equal rights for all. Any inhabitants who disagree should emigrate.
Unfortunately that will never happen. It seems Netanyahu is hell bent on a genocide, or something very close to it. Perhaps others are calling for an end, but they call for an end knowing Netanyahu will not stop until most if not all Palestinians are gone, including the West Bank which gets very little attention.
So your comment/question is not taking into account the fact that the Palestinians were fighting for self determination since 1917 from the British empire before the Zionists showed up in full force. When you say ‘the Arab states’ in your comment, where does the indigenous population (Palestinians) feature here?? I would refer to Ilan Pappé to understand how this whole situation has developed. The simplistic tagline: the Jews offered territory to the Palestinians and the Arabs rejected it, is very hasbara-esque.. not that I’m saying you are actively recruited by the latter Ministry of Propaganda but that’s what it comes across as.. also, note that Israel, to this day, has no defined borders. It’s an expansionist colonial project so, naturally, it would not want to demarcate its borders.
You are right. I always dream of one state solution, only Palestine for Palestinians …
others can coexist if they don’t mind living under the rule by the Low Life Forms !
But, most likely they will rather go to the Civilized World where some terrible things happened only 76 years ago, but now they kind of understand all that !
Professor have you considered that the US privately wants and is pursuing a wider war, perhaps in multiple theaters? As evident by: the Haniyeh assassination; the series of purposefully sabotaged negotiations regarding Israel and ukraine; Xi ‘s June statement that the US tried to bait him into attacking Taiwan; the Iranian assassinations and other provocations; the torture of Palestinians; the increase in weapons shipments; NATO’s European rearmament…. These are not actions of a risk adverse superpower.
I think the US sees an opportunity and is willing to roll the dice on conflict. The special interests that influence foreign policy all seem to want war. There is no lobby for peace. The US thinks that it has a strategic/tactical advantage and has proxies willing to fight.
War is big business for America. Naturally, it would want to open new theatres for aggression anywhere it can. That’s a fact. Pursuing peace, in American political parlance, is nothing more than creating war, like Orwell’s 1984. Ironically, America is the embodiment of that fictionalised dystopia..
Yes, I too believe that the US is pushing for wars in order to weaken their adversaries so that the US can continue world hegemony. This is why the US has no true diplomatic willingness to talk with others. The rhetoric from the US concerning the Middle East conflict is only for show, the US regulates funding and military support which could be scaled back to end the conflict in Gaza. Of course this is never going to happen.
I agree. I’m beginning to suspect that these conflicts have been a part of a long term plan. Every serious analyst said the iraq war would destabilize the region, and I think that this was done on purpose. Now, after 20 years of chaos, large parts of Iraq and Syria have become a “no man’s land” thats set up to look like a wide highway between Israel and Iran
I’m 30, I was a kid for the 2003 invasion and remember it as the first event that got me into politics. What I mean is that I think the destabilization of the Middle East was the ultimate goal of the war, and not some “easily predictable” unintended outcome.
It’s been a little over 20 years, Iraq and Syria have been through massively destructive wars Assad is weakened but still alive (and now, his regular Russian patrons are just a little too busy to help him out). Saddam is long-gone and whatever the new Iraqi govt is, it can’t muster resistance to America policy.
As of today, There are several US bases in Iraq and Syria. There are us aligned militias as well. If israel or the us wants to attack Iran, then there is a direct path from golan heights to irans border with our bases and assets placed along the way. This is perfect for if the Israel or US wants to send rockets through it, or jets, or bombers, or tank columns (with refueling stations at our bases). That’s what I mean by “highway”
Don't think the US wants a wider war but believes that if one has to be fought, now is probably a good time to do so. In my view that is a good reason for Iran to be very careful.
Taiwan is different. That is likely one where everyone loses even if they "win" the war. It has the potential to be absolutely horrendous in terms of loss of life and economic damages.
Things are breaking in US favor today. Whether that will last, I don't know but one has to give Biden some credit for US being in the favorable position that it currently is.
Agree that the timing of it does fall in the us favor for sure, which is why I think they might want it. Maybe I’m cynical.
I would have agreed with you on Taiwan not too long ago, but I changed my opinion recently… it’s not that I think the us wants to go to war with China, but because i think the us and its partners would completely destroy the Chinese navy if they attacked Taiwan, and protecting our maritime/naval hegemony is one of the highest priorities in DC.
Nothing wrong with being cynical. I just do not have enough knowledge of military capabilities to have an opinion on Taiwan but even if west could win decisively and destroy navy I don't see any upside. I want CCP to be gone but it needs to be the party that opens things up
Singaporean diplomat Kishore Mahbubani says that the Ukraine war and the war in Israel/Palestine is a sign of western geopolitical incompetence. That sounds so much smarter and polite than what I usually say about these matters, that I thought I would adopt it. What say you?
Look, the USA is losing the ‘peace’. Under peaceful circumstances, Russia integrates economically and through energy with Germany and Eastern Europe, China continues to outpace the US in manufacturing, heavy industry, and soon high tech, and Iran continues to extend influence in an arc from Syria to Yemen. In other words, under peaceful conditions the US empire global hegemony shrinks. USA has to start wars to stay in top, and they have to do it as soon as possible, before the second tier teams and regional powers get too strong.
Trump is right that the problem is within the USA and fixing that must be the first priority. The US cannot be saved by sinking Russia or China. It must stop the leaks within. It can only be saved by rebuilding the USA, its people, and its moral standing in the world. US Foreign policy has always been the prisoner of US domestic politics. It will take a decade, perhaps a generation, before Americans can see the world as it is and take their proper place within it.
It is not incompetence, it is really Western Complicity in the Genocide as it happened during the NAZIs … except America joined the war after the Pearl Habour attack and fell in love with the Zionists and started sharing the Guilt with the Europeans for the Holocaust ?
Have been reading and listening to the Professor for a long while now.
One conclusion that I believe inescapable is that the United States should pursue a neutralist foreign policy. We should remember the words of the long serving early 20th Century French ambassador to the US, Jean-Jules Jusserand, who observed that distant powers could not easily threaten the US because "on the north, she has a weak neighbor; on the south, another weak neighbor; on the east fish and on the west, fish".
We are a naturally neutralist country, our flirtation with empire comes at a price. Let’s stop before it is the ultimate price.
We are unique as a global hegemony I. That the USA has less to fear from global peace and strong rivals, but still we would rather murder millions in wars of chaos to secure our top position. Those who would sell their soul and murder humanity to retain power are thoroughly embedded in the gears of our deep state bureaucracy.
Great program. Thank you Professor and Judge for bringing this to us. We need to have this light on the sad realities of today’s world. We will never get this in the mainstream media.
If one looks at what true US leadership would have looked like in regard to the war in Ukraine and the situation in Israel it would have been something akin to this. Everything would have been done to avoid the war in Ukraine and a pause in the retaliation would have been demanded with regard to Israel’s response to the attack on October 8th, 2023. Instead the US foreign policy establishment did the opposite. This is leading to big trouble and very dark clouds on the horizon. And this is why all of those who advocated for these il conceived and short sighted policies should be replaced.
Does anyone honestly believe that there will be a "two-state solution"? Seriously? If the Israelis actually thought that the Palestinians were even "human" there might be a chance. But no...The Balfour Declaration (1917) started this mess. Let these European interlopers return to Europe/US where their future can be sorted. The Europeans hated the Jews so intensely that their "final solution" was to send them to western Asia. Was moving the Jews to a DIFFERENT CONTINENT not anti-Semitism by another name? To repeat...send them back to Europe/US from whence they came. If not, the Iranians and Hezbollah will have to fix this blight on their terms. Meanwhile, the sleazy MIC characters are licking their bloody mandibles. Mo' money...mo' money...mo' money...
Any indication in Kamaladevi’s speech on the last day of their Carnival that she has a path to two states solution in Palestine ?
or at least a one state solution for the Palestinians with any willing Jews to live under the Palestinian control with equal rights and happy thereafter ? Or if the Jews feel superior and feel unbecoming of them to live with the Palestinians, they can feel free to join the superior European compatriots ?
Great discussion with the Judge. I'm not at all clear about what Ukraine is up to, whether they are merely desperately and self-destructively lashing out with their Kursk invasion, or if they have some plausible plan to draw NATO into the war by . . . provoking Russia into massive retaliation? Could this have been a NATO directed operation, for reasons unclear? We'll see.
THIS IS IMPORTANT - SO PLEASE PAY ATTENTION: If I were running the show, (which means if I were either the President of the United States or the world’s Czar) I would make John Mearsheimer a US special envoy to Ukraine, Israel and China.
With regard to Ukraine I would have (past tense) taken John’s advice to turn Ukraine into a neutral state in order to avoid the conflict to begin with. Unfortunately that ship has sailed, so at this point I would take John’s advice in putting an end to the conflict by having Ukraine turn itself into a neutral state by divorcing itself from the west and especially from the US. John has articulated this argument innumerable times.
As far as Israel is concerned, I would have (past tense) taken John and Stephen Walt’s advice back in 2006 to start treating Israel as a normal country and slowly wean them off of US support. In my opinion it’s clear as to what I would have done immediately after 10/7/23 if I had been the POTUS and I’d like to get John’s opinion as to whether he thinks my strategy would have worked. I’m convinced that what I have in mind would have been the best strategy to have undertaken.
As far as China is concerned I would take John’s advice in trying to simultaneously contain China so that it doesn’t become a regional hegemon in its hemisphere while trying to manage the great power competition between the US and China so that it doesn’t spill over into military conflict.
Although we’ve clearly blown our opportunity to lead by example and stay on the right side of history since the end of the Cold War we’re currently dealt with the hand that we have and there is a clear path to trying to manage all three of these flashpoints so that the tensions involved with them don’t result in the start of world war 3 and a resultant possible escalation to nuclear holocaust.
Beyond that I would articulate my “course” which is the best framework with which to try to modify the overall behavior patterns of the human race as a species so that we might have the best chance at both avoiding world war 3 and being able to utilize artificial intelligence as a force for good. - (I could explain what I think the best course of action would be to resolve the Israeli Palestinian conflict but it would take up too much time).
In closing, this is what needs to happen. It’s actually relatively simple. Together these strategies would make for a win, win situation for humanity. Adopting these strategies would allow us to become more cooperative with everyone in trying to manage the rest of the problems we’re facing.
The simple fact of the matter is that John Mearsheimer has been exactly correct in everything he’s weighed in on and if one extrapolates his logic in trying to tackle the other big problems we’re faced with we’d all be doing ourselves a big favor.
I have a clear idea as to how to try to achieve that so if anyone would like to support me in that effort it would be a good thing.
Seems to me Israel is damned if it does, damned if it doesn’t. As stated 20% of Israel is Arab, mainly descendants of the Arabs who chose to stay in 1948 (against the advice of the Arab nations, who essentially regarded them as traitors). They will likely have led decent, safe, comfortable lives in a state that is supposedly their enemy or the enemy of their people. Even today I am not aware of reports of Israeli Jews attacking their Arab neighbours or vice versa despite the Gaza carnage. Some apartheid state.
On the other hand, since 1948 how have the Arabs who didn’t accept the deal behaved? Instead of nation building, endless claims to victim hood and most of their money spent on relentless assaults on Israel, which it is clear they will never accept as an entity. Yes, Gaza and the West Bank are occupied but why? As you say after the YK War - basically after Israel was attacked by people seeking to obliterate it. I can’t quite say no war, no occupation but there’s a good chance that would be true.
So my question really is, given the history of Israel, precisely how could it have behaved differently, and when, to have avoided the current situation, and avoid becoming a so-called apartheid state? It seems to me that there was a certain inevitability in how Israel has evolved and a lot of it is completely rational.
To cut to the chase it’s clear that the problem is fueled by ideologues on both sides. They would do well to scrap their stupid religions and start dealing with reality. Beyond that, the situation has no easy solution. What should have happened immediately after 10/7/23 is that Joe Biden should have come up with a plan to move all of the Palestinians out of Israel and given them a fresh start in various places around the globe. Israel along with the rest of the world could have paid the Palestinians to move. … This payment will look like a bargain in comparison to world war 3…

Can I ask how old you are? I remember plenty of people being opposed but literally no one was talking about a wide highway between Israel and Iran.
It is the slippery slope in practice. One bad decision follows another.
The eugenists plan to destroy the world is in full swing.
They don’t give a …. about anyone, not even about themselves. All they want is to kill and cause suffering.
They are all in it and don’t care about winning anything, their only goal is to kill and and to remain in power.
Here something I wrote about the ongoing holocaust.

Great program. Thank you Professor and Judge for bringing this to us. We need to have this light on the sad realities of today’s world. We will never get this in the mainstream media.
If you have time you should read my follow up post. Thanks…
Time is running out in the human races’ show.

Judge Napolitano didn't even know that a large minority of Israel's population are Arabs. Fairly typical.
Thank God the US did not listen to people like him and Phil Donahue in 2013. Couldn't he have found a better clip than that?
