1) Judge Napolitana’s explanation of blood libel is 100% wrong. Blood libel or ritual murder libel is an antisemitic canard which falsely accuses Jews of murdering Christians in order to use their blood in the performance of religious rituals.

2) The objective of the charge is to delegitimise Israel. Which is why it must be robustly defended by them.

3) Israel has a big legal team and the AI driven targeting system (The Gospel - you have to love the name.) I’m not sure that they have legally broken any international laws. I’m no expert so let’s see.

4) The SA government is a corrupt Russian puppet and effectively 1 a failed state. Lest we forget that they have aided Al-Bashir from escaping justice for Genocide. They almost resigned from the ICC over it. You will say I'm trying to libel them but this is all 100% true. Just google it.

5) Last but not least I would like to understand how a ‘moral’ government would remove Hamas? When they are fighting from a tunnel network and are ensconced in the civilian population.

Professor Mearsheimer's interviews always make me think. I agree with what he stated about Russia and Gaza, but I am not sure about China. I understand that the realist school holds that competition for power and hegemony between nation-states characterizes a world that is "nasty, brutish, and short". However, I am not sure that China is striving to be the hegemon. Would they not be striving instead for a balance of power in a multi-polar world to promote prosperity and security in place of the current unipolar system (which is indeed in a state of flux)? I am not an expert in Chinese politics, so I could be way off-base.

It's not known as the South China and East China Sea for nothing, with the majority of shipping passing through these regions being Chinese exports and imports, which should make it clear as to why China wants to dominate those regions.

Professor Mearsheimer has clarified China's position in terms of manpower, economic power, and technogical capability, which should make sane people in the US think twice about trying to fight and support a war against China over Taiwan, when the US is thousands of miles away from Taiwan, while China is a mere 120miles odd away.

To: nsakun 6 hrs ago. I have the same problem with other Substack comments. I have a very lengthy reply I try to do for videos many times it just does not post - I don't know why either like on these two.

where is my comment, just posted about 5 minutes ago, was there initially, now gone, just saying how both those guys love russia, an empire stretching across 11 time zones. the criminal invasion of ukraine doesn't trouble mearsheimer at all. if russia wants ukraine to be their colony, that;s just fine. who cares. just grinning from ear to ear the whole time

MS's avatar

Nsakun, I think you are mis-reading Professor Mearsheimer's body language. To me, he is stating the facts that led to the invasion, attendant with his dismay at people's inability to see what is evident to him. Just a thought.

nsakun's avatar

he was grinning the whole time. that part i didn't misread. and to me he is very pleased with his supposed real-politik analysis as the highest, the brightest. that's why he is grinning. so as real-politik goes ukraine should just become a colony of russia. putin didn't invade bec of fears of nato, he invaded bec no fear if no nato. even the war crimes committed by putin do not wipe the smile of mearsheimer's face. his pride in himself superceedes all else

MS's avatar

Okay, Nsakun. I understand that is your opinion.

nsakun's avatar

i really do not want to keep this up, but honestly you are so even tempered, and so reasonable. therefore you cannot say people's inability to see what is evident to him. this thing is not "evident" to him, this is what he dreamed up as being the case, but to him it seems to be evident. and he cannot imagine that he could be wrong

MS's avatar

I did not mean to offend you, Nsakun. It's all good.

nsakun's avatar

you didn't offend me. i really meant that you were so reasonable and even tempered. but you do not see his problematic thinking or non-thinking.

So facts are evidently not important to you, only your worthless opinion.

Newsflash : The facts don't care about your uninformed worthless opinion!

It's tiresome reading comments from the biased, uneducated, factually absent, and cowardly anonymous. But if your goal is to be a troll, congratulations for succeeding.

Another enlightening discussion with the Judge, thank you! I'm sure Larry McGovern and Ray Johnson were likewise impressed 😁

You deserve more reader comments, J.M.

On related themes . . .

The long and rich history of the contemporary genocides of the cultured, cultivated Europeans, The Americans and the Brits., to nominate yet a few.

And first, of Washington's lost Ukrainian Proxy War to weaken Russia and pillage its resources, perhaps the greatest and most feckless imperial play, something of a progress update.

I agree that Dr. Mearsheimer deserves more reader comments because his interviews are intellectually stimulating.
