I remember that prior to Oct. 7, 2023, Netanyahu especially, was constantly on the news for a few months(?) saying the most outrageous things about the Arabs and what needed to be done about them. It sounded like the Nazis and I brought up in a library reading group how inflammatory his rhetoric was, and how insane since the Arabs had been really “good” for a long time; what was he talking about? Shortly after I spoke, the Arabs attacked and I remember thinking, “Oh great, now everyone is going think of me as a terrorist.”
Sometimes I wonder if Sinwar and Hamas did what they did in absolute desperation to focus the world on their plight, knowing many Palestinians would die, but thinking that otherwise they were going to be completely exterminated, and that they had to make a last ditch effort to try to stop it.
