Outstanding -- thank you. As thoughtful Putin stated -- US, the Empire of Lies, is a source of evil.

Ruled by a small group of greedy sociopaths.

I don't believe that the USA has a crusader mentality, in the sense that it wants to bring a holy spirit to the entire world. I believe the USA is guided by a small, greedy collection of scoundrels seeking to control all the world's power and wealth. Their propaganda machine uses appealing words such as "liberal" and "democracy", but they have goals that are totally ignoble and are entirely unscrupulous in what they are willing to do to make their control global.

I notice that usually Prof Mearsheimer is careful to define the terms he uses in presenting his argument. One term he uses very frequently but seldom defines is "liberal democracy". It is a potent term because it is composed of two words, each with very positive connotations for US (and other Western) audiences. They are potent in propaganda, as in: The West is composed of many "liberal democracies", whereas Russia and China are authoritarian states. It is highly potent because, in the case of my country, the USA, it is called a "liberal democracy" when, in truth, it is an authoritarian state. It has the trappings of democracy, an 18th century constiution, with a separation of powers, and a Bill of Rights that includes freedom of speech and a system of elected officers of government. In practice, it is still authoritarian, because its elections are a sham - offering no choice on the principal affairs of government, such as war and peace and control of the budget. Choice is denied by control of the information media and control of institutions such as the public schools. It is authoritarian with a soft glove - most of the time!

So I find that key countries that are called authoritarian in the West, Russia and China, paradoxically, have governments that are more mindful of their peoples' needs and concerns than does our American "liberal democracy", or those of the UK, the German Federal Republis, France, and other countries of NATO. The latter pursue policies that assist the USA's foreign policy and bring great harm to their own people and economies.

For this reason, I want to know what Prof Mearsheimer means by "liberal democracy".

Mr Spangle has no spangles of any color other than white. Living in the Nordic, white snowed Heaven, I should find that rather boring, but he must find his amusement in reading of colonial history in Asia and Africa, in which being white was properly rewarded. The only exceptions to that rule that I can think of are Jews and Russian serfs, both whites but hardly privileged. Russian serfdom was abolished in mid-19th century, but the persecution of the white Jews continued in Europe until it led to the Holocaust, a great embarrassment to the Christian world or to most of it. Now, the white-Jews of Israel have demonstrated that they are really not at all different from their white-Christian brothers by their persecution of white-Arab-Palestinians. These realities of humans persecuting other humans tells me that color has nothing at all to do with such crimes. White, black, brown, red, yellow ... , Nordic, it does not matter. All one needs to be villainous is to be human, most regrettably

Why not pull a powerful limited neo-isolationism and pan americanism? Basically the USA is gonna have crusader mentality, universalism, the idea that it can/should/must become the world. But that can be stopped with neo-isolationism. For the ambitious it could be combined with "America from pole to pole". Does anyone think China could successfully dominate East Asia? That is unlikely given chinese history. Anyway, you under-estimate the importance of ideology in how states behave. Its a blind spot you share with Peter Zeihan. Lucky for me, I know ideology is a great influencer of State action and know the competing ideologies at least as well as Wang Huning. You also under-estimate liberal peace through trade theory. Basically when you have States with the same ideology and engaged in open trade and investment they do not go to war. You ignore that, probably chalking it up to something like "false consciousness". Also you should watch Kraut on Youtube, his critique of you is incisive and accurate. You DO ask the right questions and HAVE correctly noticed the neocons lies. But to "put the ball in the hole" you need to bash books about ideology into the brainbox. Your theory is 80% correct in other words 20% wrong. Hey, i am a perfectionist especially when it comes to killing!
