The only pressure that matters is US stop giving Israel spare parts and ammunition!

Thank you for all your sage advice. I wish more people especially those in positions in power in Washington paid more attention to you. The answers are there they just aren't seeing them.

Great show! Thank you both so much for keeping us informed. I expect the word is slowly getting out within the US that sources like this provide a truthful and clear analysis. Hopefully pressure will increase on the government to change our immoral policies regarding Israel/Gaza and Ukraine.

Where is the "peace" choice on the world's greatest democracies Menu for November 2024? Quite the racket. Lot's of posture: one does evil, the other talks even more evil. Then they blow kisses, serve one master. Quite the racket.

I think west needs Israel more , because of Oil rich resources . Instead of colonizing the Middle East it serves as a military outpost for the west. North America, Australia, newzealand were easy to colonize than the Middle East . To lay the blame on the lobby is disenginous

Israel has been a strategic liability for the United States for decades. We get absolutely nothing from this "special relationship" except constant abuse, a depleted Treasury, and the hatred of a good part of the world. Unfortunately, it has a complete stranglehold on US policy, thanks to the cowards and traitors who make up the American Congress. And that includes President Biden, who is acting like a petty vassal potentate rather than the most powerful man on the planet. Rather than giving the rogue state of Israel a stern ultimatum, Biden whines pathetically about civilian casualties in Gaza, and then sends them another shipment of offensive weapons. It's nauseating to read about how supposedly "frustrated" he is by the way Netanyahu is ignoring him, yet Biden STILL gives Netanyahu everything he asks for. It's astounding how monumentally stupid our president has been these past months.

Biden could/should openly challenge Netanyahu. But that would almost guarantee that he will lose the 2024 election to Trump. It is almost impossible for any US politician to get elected, when opposed by AIPAC and the powerful jewish/evangelical pro-Israel "right or wrong, my 2nd/god's country" lobby. It is inconceivable that the president of a much smaller country, that is dependent on US military aid and billions of US tax $$$ a year, can defy any US president with impunity. It is a major flaw of the US de-facto 2party system and its electoral process and campaign financing that it can be blackmailed/held hostage by powerful single issue minorities! The US needs to give 3rd (& 4th or even 5th) parties at least a fighting chance to grow. For starters, allow third party candidates to not be automatic spoilers, by installing Ranked Choice voting!

It's about time for jewish Americans to question their automatic "right or wrong, my 2nd country" support for an ultra-rightwing and racist Israeli government, that uses genocidal methods to achieve its goal of Total Ethnic Cleansing of Gaza/Palestine of all Palestinians!

De-fund Genocide! De-militarize Israel/Palestine!

You can't eliminate Hamas militarily! Eliminate their recruiting arguments! Eliminate Hamas' reason to exist! Stop the occupation! Stop the oppression!

If it is virtually impossible to do a 2state solution, do a 1country, "2state Federation" with equal rights for all and a 50/50 federal government. Neither Israelis nor Palestinians will be in the minority!

Professor Mearscheimer has argued quite logically and successfully that in Ukraine if Russia came to near losing, they will use nuclear weapons because a defeat in Ukraine would be existential for them, at least the way they perceive it, and it's their perceptions that matter in the end.

Fortunately there is little likelihood of that because Ukraine has already lost the war. And while it maybe a problematic victory for the Russians, it is adequate in their eyes and their perceptions matter regarding the use of nukes, no one else's. And to be frank, Russia has emerged stronger and more vigorous out of this and their adversaries have been damaged considerably.

However, regarding Israel, same argument holds. If Israel started losing the war, they might perceive that as an existential threat, and resort to use of nukes. 5-6 nukes would solve the problem of Gaza forever for Israel/ What would they be risking? Opprobrium and ostracism, they have those now anyway.

And a narrative can always be pushed that these nukes were a false flag by Iran using their own nukes or Pakistani nukes, however ludicrous it may sound. Would be any more ludicrous than Nordstream or ISIS-K? After all the only previous use of nukes was for ostensibly avoid too many troop losses while conquest of another nation, however culpable.

Remember, it is Israel's perception whether loss in Gaza is existential or nor, an it is only perception that matters, as far as the nukes are concerned.

Just as Russia cannot lose in Ukraine, Israel cannot lose in Gaza. Both won't allow it, no matter what.

Having said that, from a realist perspective, however cynical it may be, because Palestine does not have the nukes, does it not make sense for rest of the world to hang them out to dry and let them be pulverized by conventional forces rather than having them annihilated by by a few devices set off in 3-4 population centers. Decimation is better than annihilation.

I listened and noted the frustration and embarassment of the professor and the judge. Just small note. Quite obviously the US has been politically colonized by Israel - possibly mentally as well. there is no solution. Only I would ask President Macron to put his 20,000 troops in Gaza instead of behind lines in Ukraine, a country that was opart of Russia for the last 400 years.

Professor Mearsheimer's analyzes are evident proof that realism and reasonableness are not at odds, but rather intrinsically linked.
