On 5 December 2024, I talked with Judge Napolitano on his podcast — “Judging Freedom” — about what is happening in a variety of places around the world: Syria, South Korea, France, and of course, Israel and Gaza.
Professor Mearsheimer, if you were an advisor to Trump what would a strategy to the Ukraine-Russian war look like? I can imagine the end-game (as you’ve suggested having to allow Putin to keep some of his gains), but how would you see the process playing out and what milestones would define the process (retreat of Russian forces to specified points, end of active attacks, some type of agreement on the security of nuclear power plants)?
One of the reasons I felt compelled to come up with my course is that among other things as Isaac Asimov pointed out, we have the ability to write our own history.
It’s abundantly apparent, or at least it should be abundantly apparent, that when it comes to IR we should be listening to and closely following John Mearsheimer’s good advice.
For the same types of reasons we should be listening to that which is included in my course for the even bigger guide as to how we should be trying to conduct ourselves in order to not self destruct.
I personally argue that the American-European global faction is flirting with a nuclear war intentionally. I also see the South Korean attempt at martial law as akin to the American-European support of Zelenskyy in Ukraine. Their playbook is the same: they take advantage of domestic conflict (such as the political conflicts in South Korea and the ethnic conflicts in Ukraine) to create a fascist coup government, as it were. This is so that they can skirt democratic opposition in the nations through which they are directing self-destructive war. And while the South Korean push seems to be a failure at present, they only hope to put the question in the heads of the South Korean people-- what IF there is a North Korean enemy within? So, believe me, this attempt at disarming South Korean democracy is not done.
Shared. Thank you.
It's clear that Israel and the US have seized escalation dominance. The path foreward is decided by them.

But I'm afraid I might seem conspiratorialist even for the Judge. Do you think so, John, considering my argument in this blog: https://newamericanspringblog.wordpress.com/2024/10/14/can-you-handle-the-truth/ ?
