They tried their best to scare me to death about Russia as a kid, and when I was 8 I gave it up along with Santa. I have never taken the position as an adult you're either with us or against us which put me on one side of humanity, and against the other. I am much more frightened of the US then it's proclaimed enemies, considering what has gone on in these past 23 years. Israel with our complicity is implementing a genocide, no doubt creating a neocon agenda of her own, and very well may trigger WWIII. The coup in Ukraine and our neocon support for it told me a war in Ukraine was the very likely outcome, and we welcomed it even as it killed hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians, since according to our half there and half not president Putin has got to go.
"When you look at Western decision making in decent times, it's hard to have much confidence in the decisions people make."
Great summary of the problem, John. Why might we end up with American troops in Ukraine? Because we're led by idiots. I'm 50+, but if those idiots try to draft my late teen daughters to help "queer the Donbass", we're leaving the country. I have the resources to do it, and I would not hesitate. It's not a political thing; it's a safety of my kids thing.
