On 12 February 2025, I was interviewed on the PBS NewsHour about the remarkable comments President Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth made earlier in the day about US policy toward Ukraine and Europe more generally. It is clear that the Trump administration is bent on radically altering US policy on Ukraine and fundamentally changing US relations with Europe.
