China has signed up 124 (+?) countries to it's CIPS SWIFT-replacement exchange system, which is cheaper, faster and doesn't carry anywhere near the political/economic arm-twisting a la the IMF/World Bank/BIS/SWIFT. So over half the world is trading with China outside the US$ Reserve Currency System, in local currencies or even if the US$ is still the medium... the difference is, the US Treasury doesn't have the same control, nor gets a %fee when the currency exchange happens. That's easily billions per month the US can't waste on wars, or use as Quantitative Easing to keep the failing US economy afloat. So more debt to add to the $35trillion the US already owes... debt is leverage.

I'll take the liberty of replying, not that I know the Professor's mind. But facts are facts.
China has signed up 124 (+?) countries to it's CIPS SWIFT-replacement exchange system, which is cheaper, faster and doesn't carry anywhere near the political/economic arm-twisting a la the IMF/World Bank/BIS/SWIFT. So over half the world is trading with China outside the US$ Reserve Currency System, in local currencies or even if the US$ is still the medium... the difference is, the US Treasury doesn't have the same control, nor gets a %fee when the currency exchange happens. That's easily billions per month the US can't waste on wars, or use as Quantitative Easing to keep the failing US economy afloat. So more debt to add to the $35trillion the US already owes... debt is leverage.
All the machinations Berletic describes may well be at play, but begs the question, who calls the agenda? The real battle is between the Bretton Woods Rothschild Class-centric system and the China/Russia/BRICS+ group.
The BEST way for the Rothschild Class to survive the inevitable and accelerating denouement of the US$ System is to GRADUALLY move their assets out, into other currencies and non-US$ hard assets. It does absolutely not, and that‘s not the argument at all, on the contrary: the most important book of Mearsheimer is called „The TRADEGY of Great Power Politics“ precisely because IT IS tragically so, that international politics has it‘s internal logic, and great powers have certain inherent behaviours that are indeed tragic.
This is not at all to condone this behaviour, it is about understanding it and by understanding it being in a better situation in order to avoid tragical developments. It’s like: if you don’t wanna get eaten by a bear, you gotta know how a bear behaves and why. It has nothing to do with whether the behaviour of the bear is morally good or bad.
Same with the dynamics between great powers: if you want to have peace and avoid tragic, you have to consider the dynamics between great powers, otherwise you end up with war. There’s nothing moral or just about it, it is just tragically so due to the inherent logic of great power behaviour in international politics.
So if you divide up opinions to certain platforms or exclude certain viewpoints or ban them from the discussion, this will inevitably result in less insight or even ignorance and therefore alter the chances for conflict. So if you want peace and avoid tragic, a broad and open debate is an existential precondition.

Ukrainian dead soldiers are now conservatively pegged at about 1.2 million, independently based on obituaries, satellite surveillance of graveyard expansions, etc. Considering Ukraine started with about 600,000 soldiers, means they lost double what they started with. Hence the street kidnapping of any fit-appearing male, and conscripting women, senior citizens and the handicapped.
The 'official' Ukie death numbers are deliberately low, because as soon as a Ukie soldier is declared dead, the family is entitled to a death benefit and survivor pension. How many of the recently 'revealed' shocking desertion numbers are actually dead soldiers? The Kiev regime is beyond bankrupt, and what wasn't wasted on the battlefield has been stolen by Zelensky and his cronies. That blatant corruption is all over the news, dunno how you missed it.
