If you look at the military forces US stationed in Europe during the height of Ukraine War, it was 100,000 or so. British Army with its reservists is a bit larger currently. Of course, now the American forces stationed in Europe are much weaker already. The number of 100,000 was only achieved by calling in reservists and shuffling around personnel deployed elsewhere. It is safe to say that the decade-long recruitment crisis has crippled the US ground forces. Also, if you believe that Washington would ever suffer tens of thousands of casualties over Bulgaria or Lithuania is simply not a serious argument to make. Domestic politics would never allow that to happen. Finally, Europe has already picked up the slack from American manufacturing, or lack thereof. Remember that the American money has all but run out in late October. What little was left was then spread into small $100 million packages as you would spread too little butter over too much bread. This trend is only going to continue and become more prevalent in 2024. European military manufacturing is rising from the grave as we speak. I cannot imagine NATO being relevant for much longer.
